Creating Your Skidmore Account(s)

NOTE: If anything Interrupts the account creation process, or if you get a time-out error, or if you start making the account and then close out of the browser, you will want to contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@skidmore.edu to finish setting up your account.

 

To activate your account, you will need your Skidmore ID (also known as Banner ID) number.

We recommend that you use Microsoft Edge, Chrome or Firefox. If you have any questions, please contact our Help Desk at 518-580-5900 1. Click here to start: https://app.skidmore.edu/idm_activate/ 2. Enter your Skidmore ID (Banner ID) and your date of birth. Click Submit. 3. Verify your identity. Verify your information is correct. Click Continue. 4. You will see special instructions on the use of your name and preferred name. Read the instructions. Click OK. 5. Verify and select your username. Your username is the part that will appear before the @ symbol in your email address, in the format username@skidmore.edu. When logging into all Skidmore systems except email, you'll want to use just your username. Follow the onscreen instructions. Verify your information. Click Submit. 6. Verify your email account details. Note: You can’t change this after you hit submit. Click Submit when you're ready. 7. Account activated - Click Activate Now. 8. You will see a page telling you that your account is being built. Once your account is built, you will see a Welcome to Skidmore College dialogue box with three on-screen questions. Answer the three questions and then click Create My Account. 9. Reset your Skidmore College password. Review the password requirements, then enter new password and repeat new password. Click Reset Password. You will then be on the Skidmore Application dashboard. Please bookmark this page.

You can reach the Okta sign-in page here: Okta Sign In Click on the drop-down arrow in the top right by Skidmore College. Click Sign Out.

 

NOTE: the account creation page is used only for account creation. You can not log into any systems using that page. Please using the "Okta Sign In" link above.
