NOTE: If anything Interrupts the account creation process, or if you get a time-out error, or if you start making the account and then close out of the browser, you will want to contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@skidmore.edu to finish setting up your account.
To activate your account, you will need your Skidmore ID (also known as Banner ID) number.

1. Click here to start: https://app.skidmore.edu/idm_activate/
2. Enter your Skidmore ID (Banner ID) and your date of birth. Click Submit.
3. Verify your identity. Verify your information is correct. Click Continue.
4. You will see special instructions on the use of your name and preferred name. Read the instructions. Click OK.
5. Verify and select your username. Your username is the part that will appear before the @ symbol in your email address, in the format username@skidmore.edu. When logging into all Skidmore systems except email, you'll want to use just your username. Follow the onscreen instructions. Verify your information. Click Submit.
6. Verify your email account details. Note: You can’t change this after you hit submit. Click Submit when you're ready.
7. Account activated - Click Activate Now.
8. You will see a page telling you that your account is being built. Once your account is built, you will see a Welcome to Skidmore College dialogue box.
- You may see a prompt to enter in a secondary email. If you do, enter your personal email address and then click Create My Account.
9. Reset your Skidmore College password. Review the password requirements, then enter new password and repeat new password. Click Reset Password.
10. Next you will be prompted to set up Okta Verify click Setup
11. You will then be Presented with instructions and a QR code.
12.On your mobile device Download the Okta Verify app either though the google play store or the app store.
13. Open the Okta Verify app. Tap add an account.
14. On the Choose Account Type screen tap Organization.
15. When asked if you want to add an account from another device press Skip.
16. When asked if you have a QR code, press yes ready to scan.
17. When the QR code is displayed on the computer screen, point the phone camera at the QR code and frame it on the box displayed on the phone screen.
18. The screen will then change and ask if you want to turn on notification. Press Skip.
19. If you are using an iPhone you will be asked if you want to enable Face ID. If you are using an Android phone you will be asked if you want to enable Biometric Configuration. Press not now.
20. Your phone will then say account added. Press Done.
- A six digit verification code will be displayed in the Okta Verify app on your phone.
You will then be on the Skidmore Application dashboard. Please bookmark this page.

Click on the drop-down arrow in the top right by Skidmore College. Click Sign Out.
NOTE: the account creation page is used only for account creation. You can not log into any systems using that page. Please using the "Okta Sign In" link above.
